Where payments arrive

Each payment uses a Lightning invoice from your connected LND node or Nostr Wallet Connect service. Its payment hash identifies it. This is separate from the project’s Bitcoin on-chain wallet and its addresses.

Back up & recover

  1. For self-hosted LND, follow its seed and channel-backup procedure and maintain current backups. The project’s Bitcoin recovery phrase does not restore Lightning channels.
  2. For Nostr Wallet Connect, back up and recover through the actual wallet or provider. NWC is a connection protocol, not a custody guarantee. Protect connection secrets and check who controls the wallet keys.

Keep secrets offline. Do not upload your backup or paste recovery words into a web tool. Verify a recovered public address first. A wallet seed does not restore your invoice database.

A practical way to manage funds

Manage channel liquidity, channel closes and outgoing Lightning payments in the connected node or wallet. Wholly Crypto’s Lightning integration receives payments; its on-chain Sweep does not move channel balances.

Never treat a Lightning channel balance as an on-chain address balance. Recovering channels differs from restoring an ordinary Bitcoin seed and may involve on-chain closes and fees.

Check in Wholly Crypto

Use Settings → Chain connections for the external Lightning connection and its separate balance. Project wallet backups only cover on-chain wallets.
